Kellee Twadelle, owner of Rose & Dove Specialty Gift Shop in North Andover, has decided to retire after running the store for 19 years. While the decision to close was bittersweet, Twadelle said she is excited for her future endeavors.
"Thank you to the generations that have passed through these doors and your commitment in supporting my small business. I will be forever grateful," Twadelle wrote in a Facebook post. "North Andover is a very special place. Continue to support your local businesses and shop local!"
Loyal customers left comments on Twadelle's post lamenting over Dove's closure while expressing their gratitude for the store offering a "delightfully curated" gifts over the years.
"Very sad to hear this, but so grateful for all of the years that you helped make our town feel special and unique. Thank you," one person commented.
"So sad to see you go. You are my 'go-to' for gifts for myself and others," another person commented. "A welcoming space to browse, buy and of course chat! Kellee, I wish you and your gang all the best in your upcoming adventures!"
Twadelle plans on hosting a party for her store closing, which is expected sometime in June, the owner confirmed to Daily Voice.
Twadelle has since placed Rose's space on the market and is "considering potential offers for the business" so that the space can go to the next generation.
